University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) again supports the development of education and innovation. This is shown in the implementation of international competition activities packaged in GloColis and ISPC 2024, held by UMM in collaboration with IYSA (Indonesian Young Scientist Association). The competition, which was held from August 30 to September 2, 2024, was attended by 308 teams from various countries, both online and offline, and became a forum for young talents to show their expertise in the fields of science, technology, and innovation.
The competition, opened by Muhamad Salis Yuniardi, M.Psi, PhD, as vice-rector IV of UMM, also provides an opportunity for participants to interact with young participants from various countries and exchange ideas in the field of science. Not only is this experience obtained, but participants who become winners also get cash prizes and total funding to participate in the I2APO 2024 event.
In addition, the winning teams also received a Golden Ticket from UMM with the advantage of being able to enter UMM without an entrance test and free tuition for one semester, which applies to all majors except Medicine and Pharmacy. Through this event, UMM and IYSA hope that young talents with potential in the field of science can be directly accommodated and become a platform that consistently exists to develop their innovation and creativity.
