Research

Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) continues to move forward in leading the nation toward an era of excellence through high-quality and sustainable research. UMM is committed to increasing both the quantity and quality of internally funded research, with a focus on developing science and technology that address societal needs.

The already strong performance in research funded by DIKTI continues to be reinforced. UMM encourages its lecturers and researchers to increase their scholarly publications in reputable international journals and to obtain patents for their research findings. Additionally, UMM is expanding its external non-DIKTI funding sources by forging partnerships with industries, non-governmental organizations, and international organizations.

The enhancement of external non-DIKTI research funding has become a primary focus for UMM. The university encourages lecturers and researchers to seek research collaboration opportunities with international partners, submit research proposals to recognized funding agencies, and participate in international research programs. This effort aims to bolster UMM's international reputation and provide access to greater research resources.

UMM is also developing a flagship research scheme focused on established priority areas. This scheme offers intensive funding support and mentorship to lecturers and researchers with high potential to produce high-quality research that has a wide-reaching impact.
