Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has established a strategic partnership with Japan's leading automotive company, Daihatsu, in an apprenticeship training program. The signing ceremony was attended by UMM Vice Rector IV, Muhamad Salis Yuniardi, and Vice Rector III, Nur Subeki. Apart from the UMM ranks, Mr. Tsuyoshi Hatanaka as a representative of Daihatsu Motor Kyusu Japan who gave an overview of the atmosphere and work environment in Daihatsu Kyusu.

This collaboration aims to provide opportunities for UMM students to take part in on-the-job training programs which will be converted into values in their semester credit system (SKS). In his statement, Muhamad Salis Yuniardi emphasized the importance of this collaboration to improve the quality of education, skills of students and the existence of UMM graduates in achieving contributions in the international industrial world. This program is expected to provide valuable practical experience for students, so that they are better prepared to enter the workforce after graduation. In addition, this collaboration also reflects UMM's commitment to strengthen relationships with industry and increase the relevance of education for students.
Nur Subeki added that this collaboration is a positive step in expanding UMM's network with global companies, especially in the automotive sector. With this training program, students not only get theory in class, but also hands-on experience that will support their competence in the field. This collaboration is part of UMM's efforts to continue to innovate and adapt to the needs of the labor market, as well as support the development of quality human resources in Indonesia.
