Friday, October 4th, 2024, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang and East Java Regional Police (Polda Jatim) agreed to cooperate in the field of strengthening human resources in the police through the higher education program. Inspector General Police, Imam Sugianto,the head of Polda Jatim stated that this cooperation is an effort to increase the pattern of human resources development and provide broader insight so the police members can compete more with higher education supplied.
Additionally, the Inspector General Police also stated about the peace message to the democracy party that will come. “I also entrust the rector of UMM and his academic community to maintain order. Especially, in maintaining the upcoming democratic party event. Keep the condition peaceful and fair, especially in East Java Region.”
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si, also stated that UMM has an extraordinary inner bond. From the first, we have declared with the government that NKRI is the Price of Death. Then, UMM will always support and help the police in every aspect, with no exception in human resource development.
“We are always ready in various dimensions that exist. UMM is very open to collaborating with the East Java Regional Police. The acceleration of superior human resources quality is indeed needed in various lines, including the police line. So, cooperation with the campus is a strategic step. In addition, you are also always open to doing cooperation in the fields of research, security, community service, and others," he said.
This cooperation also strengthens the pace of the White Campus in helping the community broadly and helping to maintain the peace and security of the community.
